Consumers’ role in health insurance rate reviews

Oregon encourages public interest in its health insurance rate review process. We review and must approve the rates for small employers with 2-50 employees, for people who get insurance on their own through individual plans and for consumers with portability plans. We do not review rates for larger employers (51+ employees).

Citizens can view rate request documents online and offer comment within 30 days of the posting. Comments will be posted on this Web site and will be part of the review of the proposed rate. See "e-mail notifications" below for directions on how to participate.

Finding health insurance options

Healthcare.gov is a central database of health coverage choices. It combines information about each state's public programs and offers information from more than 1,000 private insurance plans nationwide. In addition, this website is a one-stop-shop for information on the Affordable Care Act, and other health care resources. The website is updated regularly and will provide increasingly detailed information on quality rankings for local health care providers and preventive services.
