State revokes Grants Pass insurance agent's licenses

SALEM – The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) has revoked the insurance agent's license of a Grants Pass woman, Shari D. Stading, for violating the Oregon Insurance Code.

An investigation by the Insurance Division of DCBS found that Stading retained more than $3,400 in insurance premiums she received from 18 persons. She was not authorized to retain the money by the insurance companies or by Jim & Bob Clark's Insurance, Inc., the Grants Pass insurance agency that employed her.

Stading also violated state law by failing to respond completely to questions from the Insurance Division.

Stading is prohibited from selling or servicing insurance policies in Oregon. She agreed to the revocation and a lifetime ban from working in the insurance industry in Oregon.
