Military active duty by Oregon producers
If you have been called to military active duty as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Oregon Insurance Division will:
- Extend your insurance producer license by the term of your military active duty service.
- Reinstate your license without penalty if it expired while you were on active duty.
- Waive your continuing education requirements at your next renewal date (if applicable).
Example:
You are called to active duty for one year in January 2003. Your producer license expires in May 2003. We will extend your license expiration date one year to May 2004. You can renew your license in
May 2004 without fulfilling your continuing education requirements for the current license period.
Notification requirements
- When activated to military active duty
Mail or fax a letter to the Insurance Division explaining that you have been called to active duty. Include your name, license number, and a copy of your military orders.
If you don't notify us, your license may expire while you are on active duty.
- When released from military active duty
Mail or fax a letter to the Insurance Division explaining that you have been released from active duty. Include your name, license number, and a copy of your military discharge papers.
